- Securing grant funding, managing a lab and research budget, supervising PhD students and postdocs, publishing extensively, building a strong research reputation.

- Successful track record of grant acquisition and project management.
- Experience in formal supervision and development of research staff/students.
- Ability to translate academic research into potential industrial applications.
- Strong publication record and presence in the scientific community.
- Understanding of intellectual property creation in a research context.
