The Fluency Framework · the big idea

Future Fluency. The language of your future.

We read the whole UK job market and asked one question: what skills does the AI economy keep asking for? The same ten kept coming up. Not a list of courses. A map of where work is going, and the thing a qualification on its own can't give you.

1The big idea, in three layers

"How do I stay useful and keep growing?" is the biggest question of the AI economy. It has three parts, and most learning only answers one. Zavmo answers all three.

Layer 1 · who you are
Your make-up

Seven human strengths underneath everything, like your ability to change, to think, to bring people with you. These decide whether you can learn a new skill at all.

Layer 2 · what work needs
The ten fluencies

The ten future-skill areas the whole job market is moving toward. The same ten for everyone. This is the map.

Layer 3 · where you stand
Your level, right now

How fluent you are in each one today. Personal to you, and always moving as you grow.

Layer 1 is the gate. The ten are the map. Your level is where you stand on it. Get those three the wrong way round and you end up with a list of courses. Keep them apart and you get a route.

2Why "fluency", not "certificate"

The word is the whole point. You're not certified in a fluency. You're more or less fluent in it, exactly like a language. And like a language, you keep getting better at it.

already fluent
Foundational

You arrived with it. It's just part of who you are, the baseline your job assumes.

working fluency
Functional

The fluency your job draws on right now, every week.

not yet fluent
Future

Coming for your job, but you're not there yet. This is the edge Zavmo grows you toward.

The clever bit: the same fluency sits at a different level for different people. AI Fluency is a future skill for a finance boss, a working skill for a data analyst, and a baseline for a new graduate. Same fluency, three levels, one moment in time. You never get filed in a box. Zavmo measures where you stand on each one, and grows you from there.

And it moves on its own as you do. Move the finance boss into a data-heavy role and their AI Fluency quietly goes from future to working. The ten never change. Only your level does.

3The ten fluencies

The number by each one is how much of the market's demand it makes up. Read it as a rough size, not an exact figure. Tap any one for the full story.

Where these numbers come from, and how far to trust them. They're Zavmo's own reading of tens of thousands of real UK job records and the skill entries inside them, sorted by us. Nobody else's figures. Read them as rough sizes, not decimals. And read the whole thing as the market appears to be converging on this, never the market needs this. We're still checking it against live hiring data, and we'll tell you the moment that changes anything.

4What all ten stand on

Growth Mindset and Emotional Intelligence. The human ground floor.

Underneath all ten sit two human things. Your appetite to change, and your ability to read yourself and other people. They aren't future skills. They're what decides whether you can reach any of the ten. So we built them as real units too, and they come first.

Growth Mindset
ZFF-GM-05 · Zavmo Award in Future Fluency · Level 5 · 60 learning hours
Can you change? It's the gate on everything else. And, unlike almost everything else about you, it is genuinely trainable.
Understand mindset and its effect on learning and performance, appraise one's own learning behaviours, and apply and sustain growth-oriented practices in the face of real challenge, feedback and setback.
Emotional Intelligence
ZFF-EI-05 · Zavmo Award in Future Fluency · Level 5 · 60 learning hours
Reading yourself, and reading the room. As machines take more of the task, this is the half that stays yours.
Understand models of emotional intelligence, evaluate one's own self-awareness and regulation, and apply empathy and social skill to strengthen real working relationships.
This is the promise underneath the whole framework. Because a willingness to change is the gate, and because it can be built, anybody, from any job, at any age, can reach any of the ten. That isn't encouragement. It's how the model is put together.

5How Zavmo makes you fluent

You pick where you start. The teachers take you to confident.

These ten aren't a separate course you bolt on. They're the layer running through everything you learn on Zavmo. Here's exactly how you go from wherever you are today to genuinely fluent.

Woven into everything you learn
  • Every role and every qualification on Zavmo carries all ten fluencies.
  • You never take a separate "future skills" course. They're built into whatever you study.
  • So the credit toward a qualification and the future skill are earned in the same piece of work.
You set the starting level
  • When you join, you do a short, honest check: how confident are you on each of the ten?
  • One quick question per fluency. No test, no judgement, no right answer.
  • That sets where Zavmo begins with you: further along on some, right from the start on others.

Then the twelve teachers move you up, rung by rung, deepening how well you know something, until you can do it for real without thinking. That's what "confident" means here. One to one, online, at your pace, whenever you have twenty minutes.

Start where you are
Understand

A teacher opens the idea at your level, building on what you already know, through a real problem you face.

Do it for real
Apply

You use it on live work from your job, with the teacher beside you: getting it wrong safely, then getting it right.

Own it
Evaluate & create

You judge, decide and make on your own. The top of the ladder, where real confidence lives. Fluent.

Always taught through your reality. Zavmo never teaches these in the abstract. It teaches them through your role, your responsibilities, the things you're measured on, and where you want to go next, so a future skill is never a lecture. It's your own work, done better.

6Where this connects

Every fluency ties back to real jobs and real qualifications. Start with the biggest one in full, see the roles that need it, or the qualifications that build it.

7Where a qualification fits in

A quality guide to what your work could be certified as.

Fluency is the thing a certificate on its own can't give you. But the two aren't rivals, and here's the honest picture of how they meet. Zavmo isn't an awarding body, and won't pretend to be.

Where a qualification already exists
  • For many fluencies, a real Ofqual-regulated qualification already covers the ground.
  • Zavmo maps you to it and teaches towards the evidence it asks for, so one piece of work earns the fluency and the credit at once.
  • Zavmo reads those qualifications. It doesn't award them.
Where no one certifies it yet
  • The human fluencies (foresight, change, systems, trust) aren't certified by any exam board today.
  • So Zavmo has built its own units for them, to the same national grammar, earned as applied practice from your real work.
  • Evidence of what you can genuinely do, not a certificate for sitting still.
Think of it as a quality guide. It shows what your evidence could be certified as, by your employer or an awarding body. We're working to accredit the Future Fluency units, and until that's signed we won't claim a stamp we don't hold, or name a partner. What you build is real either way, and it stays with you.
