Can your experience count towards a qualification?
Experience does not become a qualification by itself. An awarding body awards it, after an assessor checks your evidence against its criteria. What your experience can do is count as some of that evidence. This is called recognition of prior learning, and the awarding body decides it under its own rules.
Work you do with Zavmo can count as evidence of prior learning, under the agreements we hold with awarding bodies. Zavmo is not an awarding body, and it is not yet an approved centre. Nothing here turns experience into a degree or a certificate.

This tool runs two ways and it is the same record either way. Name a qualification and it reads back from the Ofqual register. What it is, the real national level, what it covers and roughly what it takes. Name the job you already do and it reads the other way, to the regulated qualification your experience is closest to. There is nothing to score, because you have not been asked anything about yourself.
For a lookup like this, the thing worth showing you is provenance. Which register the answer comes from. Which numbers are the awarding organisation’s and which links are our own inference. And the one thing this tool never pretends: Zavmo is not an awarding body, and finding a qualification here is not being awarded it.

The units, the total credits and the guided learning hours are the qualification’s own published figures. They are shown only where the register carries them, and left out where it does not.

All of it is a nearest-neighbour match between qualifications and the standards. A job-first match also carries a confidence band, so you see how close it is rather than only that it exists.
This link is inferred by Zavmo and is approximate. It is good enough to suggest what a qualification is about, or which one to think about. It is not an official statement from the awarding organisation or the regulator.

Where the qualification comes from
Every qualification on this site is read from the Ofqual register of regulated qualifications. That is the public record of qualifications regulated in England, and it is the source rather than a copy we typed. When this tool shows you a level 3 diploma, that diploma exists and it is regulated. An awarding organisation named on the same screen owns it.
Reading the register is a lookup, and a lookup is not advice. This tool can tell you what a qualification is. It cannot tell you that it is the right one for you. Nor that you will be accepted onto it, or that an employer will value it. Those are real questions, and a register read cannot answer them, so it does not pretend to.
Why a match from your job is a match, not an assessment
Run the other way, the tool asks you for one thing: the job you do. It does not ask what you can do, how long you have done it, or how well. So the result cannot be a reading of your competence, because none of the inputs are about you. It reads the job you named, and the qualification the record says that job maps to.
That distinction is the whole point, and we hold it deliberately. Telling someone their experience is closest to a qualification is a useful prompt about where to look. Telling them they have already met most of it would be a claim we have no evidence for, because we never measured them. So the page frames it as something to aim at, never as ground you have already covered.
Who decides whether experience counts
There is a real process for turning experience into credit, and it has a name: recognition of prior learning. It is a formal assessment against the qualification’s own criteria. The body that runs it and decides the outcome is the awarding organisation, not Zavmo. We are not an awarding body, we do not sit on that decision, and nothing on this page moves it.
So this tool does the tractable half. It shows you the regulated qualification your experience points at, so you know what you would be putting yourself forward for. Whether any of what you already do earns credit toward it is the awarding organisation’s call, under their rules. We say that plainly rather than let a match read as a shortcut it is not.
What the read can and cannot tell you
The parts that come straight from the register are shown as written. The title, the level, the type, the awarding organisation, and, where the register carries them, the units, the total credits and the guided learning hours. Where a figure is not in the record, the tool leaves it out rather than estimate it. A missing number means we do not hold it, never that it is zero.
The softer part is the mapping, in both directions, and it is labelled as such wherever it appears. It is a nearest-neighbour match to the National Occupational Standards, inferred by Zavmo and approximate by design. Read it as a prompt, not as a promise from the awarding organisation. The catalogue is UK-first and it is not complete. A name we cannot place confidently gets a route to browse, rather than the nearest thing dressed up as a match.
Why we never dress a course up as the certificate
When you carry on from here, Zavmo builds a course around a real qualification and around what you can already do. You start from evidence rather than from scratch, and move on when you have shown you understand. The ten human fluencies are woven through it as you go.
What Zavmo does not do is award the qualification. Earning it is the awarding organisation’s decision, assessed to their rules, and that line does not move. This tool exists to help you find the real thing and understand it, then hand you into the learning with the register read intact. It does not hand you a certificate that only an awarding organisation can grant.
