- Successful leadership and development of your direct reports (Production Supervisors).
- Effective management of CapEx projects within your area, delivering on time and budget.
- Demonstrated ability to implement significant continuous improvement initiatives with measurable ROI.
- Strong collaboration with other departments like Planning, Quality, and Maintenance.

Senior Production Manager
6-10 years in role before Plant ManagerSkills to master
- Managing multiple shifts and supervisors across a large production area, deep expertise in production planning and execution, and a strong track record in improving efficiency and reducing waste. This path often focuses on pure production excellence.
You're ready to move on when
- Achieving sustained improvements in OEE, First Pass Yield, and labour efficiency across your production area.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse workforce across different shifts.
- Successful resolution of complex production issues and implementation of robust preventative measures.
- Strong understanding of the factory's overall capacity and how to optimise resource allocation.
- Effective collaboration with Maintenance and Quality to minimise downtime and defects.

Head of Engineering / Technical Manager (from a large plant)
8-12 years in role before Plant ManagerSkills to master
- While less common, a strong technical leader with a deep understanding of the plant's machinery and processes, coupled with proven people management and project leadership skills, can transition. They'll need to develop a broader commercial and HR understanding.
You're ready to move on when
- Successful leadership of major engineering projects (e.g., new line installations, automation upgrades).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strong understanding of process optimisation and equipment reliability.
- Proactive engagement with production and quality teams to solve operational challenges.
