- Consistently sought out for advice by peers and junior team members.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and gain their buy-in.
- Taken on informal leadership roles, such as acting as a project lead or temporary supervisor.

From Lead Quality Engineer / QA Supervisor
2-4 years in a Lead/Supervisor roleSkills to master
- Directly managing a small team (3-5 people), developing their skills, managing performance, and taking accountability for team deliverables. Also, gaining more exposure to strategic planning and budget management.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managed a small team, including performance reviews and development plans.
- Contributed to departmental strategic planning and budget discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve team conflicts and foster a positive working environment.
- Taken initiative to improve team processes or introduce new tools that increased efficiency.

From Operations or Engineering Manager (with strong Quality focus)
5-8 years in a managerial role with significant quality responsibilitiesSkills to master
- Deepening knowledge of formal QMS standards (e.g., ISO 9001), advanced quality methodologies, and regulatory compliance. Translating operational experience into a strategic quality framework.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed production or engineering teams with a strong emphasis on quality metrics and continuous improvement.
- Led initiatives that significantly reduced defects, scrap, or rework in an operational context.
- Gained formal quality certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO Lead Auditor).
