- Mastering basic troubleshooting, performing routine PMs, understanding core BAS navigation, and strict adherence to safety protocols. It's about building a solid foundation under close supervision.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently completes assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of system fundamentals and safety procedures.
- Proactively asks questions and shows initiative in learning new systems.
- Can independently resolve simple, well-defined control issues.

HVAC Field Service Engineer/Technician
2-4 yearsSkills to master
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, experience with a variety of HVAC equipment, customer service skills, and working independently in the field. You'll bring the hands-on equipment knowledge.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex HVAC mechanical faults.
- Good understanding of how controls interact with mechanical systems.
- Experience working autonomously and managing a workload.
- A desire to specialise more in the 'brains' of the building rather than just the 'brawn'.

Apprenticeship in Building Services / Electrical Engineering
3-5 years (post-apprenticeship)Skills to master
