Maintenance Manager (Single Site/Large Area)
Typically 3-5 years in roleSkills to master
- Budget management for a single plant, leading a team of supervisors, implementing site-specific reliability programmes, managing local vendor relationships, and mastering site safety protocols.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently exceeding site-level maintenance KPIs (e.g., OEE availability, PM compliance).
- Successfully leading a major CapEx project from inception to completion.
- Developing and promoting at least one supervisor or engineer from your team.
- Demonstrating strong cross-functional collaboration with site Production and HSE teams.

Senior Reliability Engineer / Specialist
Typically 4-6 years in roleSkills to master
- Deep expertise in RCM, FMEA, and advanced RCA techniques. Leading condition monitoring programmes (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography). Developing and optimising predictive maintenance strategies. Influencing technical decisions across multiple sites.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully implementing a new PdM technology that significantly reduced unplanned downtime.
- Leading complex RCA investigations that resulted in permanent, high-impact solutions.
- Being recognised as the go-to expert for specific asset types or reliability methodologies.
- Effectively training and mentoring junior engineers or technicians in reliability principles.

Operations Manager (with strong Maintenance background)
Typically 3-5 years in roleSkills to master
- Broader operational oversight, including production planning, quality control, and supply chain. Managing a larger, more diverse team. Understanding the full P&L impact of operational decisions. Experience with lean manufacturing at a higher level.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managing a significant operational department beyond just maintenance.
- Demonstrating strong leadership across both production and maintenance teams.
- Achieving significant improvements in overall operational efficiency and output.
- Effectively balancing competing demands from various operational functions.
