You're ready to move on when
- Consistently exceeding performance targets for your assigned workstreams.
- Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives.
- Successfully mentoring 2-3 junior colleagues, with positive feedback.
- Taking ownership of complex problems and seeing them through to resolution.
- Presenting confidently to mid-level management on project updates and recommendations.

External Hire (Logistics Manager at smaller firm)
Coming from a similar management role (5+ years managing a team and budget) at a smaller or less complex organisation.Skills to master
- Adapting quickly to our scale and complexity, demonstrating strong carrier management and negotiation skills in a new environment, and quickly building credibility with our internal stakeholders. You'll need to show you can handle a bigger pond.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven track record of managing a logistics team and budget (e.g., £250K+).
- Successful implementation of logistics technology or process improvements.
- Strong references from previous direct reports and senior managers.
- Ability to articulate how your experience translates to our larger scale operations.

Consulting Background (Operations/Supply Chain)
Typically 8-10 years in operations or supply chain consulting, with significant client-facing project leadership.Skills to master
- Translating theoretical frameworks into practical, implementable solutions within an operational environment, adapting to our company culture, and building strong relationships with our internal teams. You'll need to show you can 'do' as well as 'advise'.

- Experience leading end-to-end supply chain transformation projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on measurable results.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
- A genuine desire to move from an advisory role to an operational leadership position.
