The scoreboard, and what is not on it. The hard targets, how often each is actually
looked at, and the quiet signals that never reach a dashboard.
Payroll Data Entry Accuracy
The percentage of payroll-related data entries (new hires, changes, terminations) that are error-free.
Target · < 0.5% error rate per pay cycle If you process 200 payroll changes in a month, we'd expect no more than one error. An error would be something like an incorrect salary input or a missed change to an employee's bank details.
Onboarding Task Completion Rate
The percentage of all required new hire onboarding tasks (e.g., IT setup, HRIS entry, I-9 completion) finished before the employee's first day.
Target · 100% completed before Day 1 For a cohort of 10 new starters, all 10 should have their laptop, HRIS profile, and signed I-9 form ready to go on Monday morning. If one person doesn't have their laptop, that's a miss.
Interview Scheduling Speed
The average time it takes from a recruiter's request to a confirmed, calendared interview for candidates.
Target · 95% of interviews scheduled within 24 hours of request If a recruiter asks you to schedule an interview at 10 AM on Tuesday, the candidate and interview panel should have a confirmed calendar invite by 10 AM Wednesday. We know calendars are tricky, but quick action matters.
Employee Query Resolution Time (Tier 1)
The average time taken to respond to and resolve basic employee questions (e.g., 'How much PTO do I have?', 'Where's the policy on X?').
Target · Average < 4 business hours for direct replies An employee emails at 9 AM asking about their holiday allowance. You should aim to have a clear, correct answer back to them by 1 PM that same day. For more complex queries, acknowledging receipt within this timeframe counts.
HRIS Data Integrity
The overall cleanliness, accuracy, and completeness of employee data within the HRIS. This isn't just about errors, but also about proactively spotting inconsistencies.
- You'll be running regular audits and proactively flagging discrepancies. We'll see fewer instances of managers or other teams pointing out incorrect data. You'll be the one catching the missing job titles or incorrect department codes before they cause problems.
Candidate Experience Feedback
How positively candidates perceive their interactions with HR during the recruitment coordination phase.
- Feedback from hiring managers and candidates will consistently highlight your professionalism and helpfulness. We'll see comments like 'scheduling was seamless' or 'HR was really responsive' in post-interview surveys or direct feedback.
Internal Stakeholder Trust
How much other teams (like IT, Payroll, Recruitment) rely on you to get things done correctly and on time.
- You'll be the go-to person for these teams when they need HR admin support. They won't be chasing you for updates
- instead, you'll be proactively sharing information. They'll know they can count on you to deliver without constant supervision.
Process Improvement Contributions
Your ability to spot inefficiencies in current HR processes and propose practical solutions.
- You'll bring ideas to your manager like 'What if we automated X step?' or 'This part of onboarding always causes delays
- I think we could do Y instead.' These aren't just complaints
- they're thoughtful suggestions for making things better.
