The pathway
How you actually get there, here
How you become one varies far more by country than what one does. This is the UK route. Most people take one of these ways in; the right one depends on where you're starting from.

- Deepening existing client relationships, identifying cross-selling opportunities, informal mentoring of junior staff, and a solid understanding of our product suite. You'd have been responsible for retaining and growing a book, but not necessarily for active new client acquisition.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently exceeding client retention targets and 'share of wallet' growth.
- Demonstrating strong client advocacy and receiving positive feedback.
- Proactively identifying and escalating complex client needs.
- Successfully mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
- 2
Wealth Management Specialist from another firm
8-12 years relevant experienceSkills to master
- A portable book of business, a strong network of HNW clients and COIs, and a proven track record of new client acquisition and revenue generation. You'd need to quickly adapt to our firm's culture, processes, and technology.
You're ready to move on when
- A well-defined business plan for transitioning and growing a book of business at our firm.
- Strong references from previous clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrable expertise in a specific area of wealth management (e.g., estate planning, private equity).
- A clear understanding of our firm's value proposition and how it aligns with your client base.
