Tracking shipments, confirming carrier tenders, and retrieving documentation. You'll primarily use it for visibility – knowing where our stuff is and when it's due to arrive.

C.H. Robinson Navisphere Intermediate

Booking LTL/FTL shipments, getting quick quotes, tracking loads in real-time, and uploading critical documents like BOLs and PODs. It's a key tool for our road freight.

Microsoft Excel Intermediate

You'll be using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and conditional formatting to create daily tracking reports, clean up data exports, and do quick ad-hoc analysis. It's your digital Swiss Army knife.

If we planned 100 shipments to leave this week, and 96 actually left on time, that's a 96% dispatch rate. We're looking for you to consistently hit that target, even when things get a bit chaotic.

Data Entry Accuracy (BOLs, PODs)

The error rate in keying in crucial information from Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Proof of Deliveries (PODs) into our systems.

Target · Less than 1% error rate

Spotting that one transposed digit in a container number before it causes a major headache at customs, or ensuring the correct weight is recorded to avoid re-billing. One wrong number can cause a massive ripple effect, honestly.

POD Retrieval Rate

The percentage of Proof of Delivery documents successfully obtained from carriers within 72 hours of delivery.

If you've managed 50 deliveries this week, we expect to have 49 or 50 signed PODs in our system by the end of Monday. Finance needs these to get paid, so it's pretty important.

Demurrage & Detention Avoidance

The number of times we incur unexpected fees for containers sitting too long at ports or outside our facility, directly attributable to your oversight.

Missing a customs clearance deadline or forgetting to arrange a timely container pickup can cost us hundreds, sometimes thousands, of pounds. We expect you to be on top of these deadlines.

Proactive Communication

How well you keep internal and external teams in the loop, especially when things aren't going to plan. It's about getting ahead of problems.

You'll be the one sending an email to Sales about a potential delay before the customer even calls. You'll update the warehouse team about an inbound shipment change without being prompted. People will say, 'Oh, good, [Your Name] already told me.'

Problem Resolution & Resourcefulness

Your ability to calmly tackle unexpected issues – like a shipment getting 'rolled' or held at customs – and find a solution, even if it means calling around a bit.

When a container gets stuck, you're not just reporting the problem
you're calling the freight forwarder, checking alternative routes, and coming back with options. You know who to call and how to unstick things. You'll hear 'How did you even think of that?'

Process Adherence & Improvement

How consistently you follow our established logistics processes, and whether you spot opportunities to make them better, not just bypass them.
