- Successfully managed a team of 3+ planners for at least 2 years.
- Consistently achieved departmental KPIs and contributed to cost savings.

7-10 years to reach this levelSkills to master
- Transitioning from managing a shift or a small fleet to overseeing an entire transport department. This involves significant budget ownership, strategic carrier management, and broader regulatory accountability.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed a shift or small fleet with full P&L accountability for at least 3 years.
- Proven track record of improving fleet utilisation and driver performance.
- Successfully handled major operational disruptions and implemented effective contingency plans.
- Strong grasp of all relevant transport regulations and compliance requirements.

8-12 years to reach this levelSkills to master
- Adapting from a service provider mindset to an in-house operational leadership role. This means a deeper focus on internal stakeholder management, long-term fleet strategy, and integrating transport with the wider supply chain.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed transport operations for a significant client or region within a 3PL for 4+ years.
- Demonstrated ability to meet stringent client SLAs and manage complex contracts.
- Experience in cost optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of different transport models and network design principles.
