The pathway
How you actually get there, here
How you become one varies far more by country than what one does. This is the UK route. Most people take one of these ways in; the right one depends on where you're starting from.

- Leading entire innovation projects end-to-end, mentoring junior team members, presenting findings to director-level stakeholders, and mastering core innovation methodologies.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently delivering validated concepts or clear 'kill' decisions for single projects.
- Demonstrating strong leadership and mentorship of junior colleagues.
- Successfully influencing director-level stakeholders on project direction.
- Proactively identifying and proposing new innovation opportunities.
- 2
Senior Product Manager (from core business)

- 3
Management Consultant (Innovation/Digital focus)

- Strong ability to quickly grasp new industries and business models.
- Desire to move from external advice to internal execution and ownership.
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
- 4

- Strong ability to identify market opportunities and validate ideas quickly.
