- Deepen strategic planning for multi-year programmes, manage complex stakeholder relationships, build and mentor a small team of specialists, gain initial experience with budget management for large projects.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully designed and implemented at least two significant circularity programmes from end-to-end.
- Consistently delivered projects on time and budget, demonstrating strong commercial acumen.
- Recognised internally as a go-to expert for complex circularity challenges.
- Proactively mentored junior team members and contributed to team capability building.

Senior Sustainability Consultant (External)
5-8 years in senior consulting roles, with a focus on circular economy.Skills to master
- Transition from advising to owning commercial outcomes, develop internal stakeholder management skills (different from client management), build and lead an operational team, gain experience with P&L responsibility.
You're ready to move on when
- Led multiple circular economy strategy engagements for large corporate clients.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic recommendations into actionable implementation plans.
- Managed project teams and delivered against client budgets and timelines.
- Developed strong business development skills, showing an understanding of commercial drivers.

Head of Product/Programme (related industry with sustainability focus)
3-6 years in a similar leadership role, ideally with a sustainability remit.Skills to master
- Deepen understanding of circular economy specific frameworks and methodologies, adapt leadership style to a dedicated sustainability function, build expertise in specific circularity challenges (e.g., reverse logistics, material science).
You're ready to move on when
- Managed a product or programme with significant P&L responsibility (£1M+).
- Led cross-functional teams to launch new products or services.
- Demonstrated a strong understanding of environmental impact and sustainability drivers in previous roles.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and deliver commercial results.
