This competence-based qualification is for operators working at medium-risk waste storage facilities. It covers the knowledge and skills required to manage environmental impact, waste transfer, health and safety, and regulatory inspections within the waste management sector. Successful candidates will demonstrate competence in managing non-hazardous waste operations.

What you'll be able to do

- Understand the hazards, risks, control measures and monitoring associated with a waste and resource management environment, including specific hazards such as moving machinery, hazardous substances and confined spaces.
- Make sure that hazards and risks are controlled safely and effectively on site, by implementing appropriate control measures and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Implement organisational health and safety procedures on site, ensuring that procedures are followed and that staff are trained and competent.
