- Architecting learning journeys for large-scale transformations, defining comprehensive measurement strategies, influencing project-level decisions, and potentially leading a small, informal team or a significant workstream.
You're ready to move on when
- Has successfully designed and overseen learning strategies for multiple complex programmes.
- Can clearly articulate the business impact of learning interventions.
- Consistently influences senior project stakeholders and gains buy-in for learning approaches.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, even without formal direct reports.
- Manages significant training budgets and resource allocations for large workstreams.

Learning & Development Manager (from a different specialism)
5-7 years in L&D with significant project/programme management experienceSkills to master
- Deepening knowledge of change management methodologies, understanding the unique challenges of change adoption, and translating general L&D principles into a transformation context. You'll need to prove you can handle the 'messy middle' of change.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven track record of managing L&D teams and budgets in previous roles.
- Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Experience leading significant learning programmes, even if not explicitly 'change' focused.
- Demonstrates a keen interest and foundational knowledge in organisational change management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at a senior level.
