- Successfully leads troubleshooting for moderately complex network incidents without constant supervision.
- Proactively identifies areas for network improvement and proposes solutions.
- Receives positive feedback from junior colleagues you've informally mentored.

Senior On-Premises Network Engineer transitioning to Cloud
5-7 years in traditional networking + 1-2 years focused on cloud transitionSkills to master
- Deep understanding of cloud networking primitives (VPC/VNet, security groups, cloud routing), mastery of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), proficiency in at least one major cloud provider's networking services.
You're ready to move on when
- Holds relevant associate-level cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator Associate) and actively working towards advanced ones.
- Can demonstrate personal projects or work experience where they've built and managed cloud networks using IaC.
- Understands the fundamental differences and advantages of cloud networking over traditional on-premises approaches.
- Shows a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to cloud-native paradigms.

DevOps Engineer with a strong Network Focus
4-6 years in DevOps, with 2+ years heavily involved in network automationSkills to master
- Deep IaC expertise, strong scripting (Python), understanding of network security principles, experience with container networking (Kubernetes CNI), and cloud provider networking services.

- Has built and maintained CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure changes.
- Can demonstrate significant contributions to network automation efforts in previous roles.
- Understands the interplay between application deployments and underlying network configurations.
- Has a good grasp of network monitoring and observability tools.
