You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led a major data transformation programme for a business unit.
- Consistently delivered significant P&L impact through data-driven initiatives.
- Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top data talent.
- Regularly presented strategic recommendations to the executive team and gained buy-in.

Chief Data Officer (CDO) / Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) at a smaller or mid-sized company
3-5 years as a CDO/CAO before moving to a larger enterprise VP roleSkills to master
- Full P&L ownership for data, enterprise-wide data governance, board interaction, and building a data culture from scratch.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully built and scaled a data function from the ground up.
- Navigated complex regulatory environments and established robust data governance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic change across an entire organisation.
- Proven track record of managing executive stakeholders and achieving business outcomes.

5-10 years in a CTO/CIO role with a significant data remitSkills to master
