- Accurate data collection, strict adherence to SOPs, basic equipment operation, foundational lab safety, clear documentation.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently delivers error-free data on routine tests.
- Can independently set up and run at least three different types of standard tests.
- Proactively identifies and reports minor equipment issues.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of lab safety protocols.

Quality Control Lab Technician
3-4 yearsSkills to master
- In-depth understanding of product specifications, high-volume testing efficiency, non-conformance reporting, basic statistical process control (SPC) charting.
You're ready to move on when
- Has a track record of identifying quality issues before products ship.
- Is highly efficient at performing repetitive tests with high accuracy.
- Understands the impact of test results on product quality decisions.
- Can interpret basic control charts and flag out-of-spec conditions.

Engineering Apprentice (Advanced)
4-5 years (post-apprenticeship)Skills to master
- Practical engineering skills, understanding of design principles, hands-on fabrication/assembly, problem-solving in a manufacturing context.
You're ready to move on when
- Can read and interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
- Has experience building or modifying mechanical/electrical systems.
- Demonstrates a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Understands the interplay between design, manufacturing, and testing.
