3-5 years (with R&D specific upskilling)Skills to master
- Adapting general EHS knowledge to the unique hazards and culture of R&D labs (e.g., novel chemicals, biosafety, research timelines). Quickly gaining expertise in R&D-specific regulations and risk assessment methodologies.
You're ready to move on when
- Has completed specific training or certifications in R&D safety (e.g., biosafety, chemical hygiene).
- Can articulate the fundamental differences in safety management between their previous industry and R&D.
