You're ready to move on when
- You've successfully led multiple critical supplier recovery projects from start to finish.
- You're the go-to person for complex technical quality questions within your current team.
- You've formally mentored at least one junior engineer who has shown significant growth.
- You've proactively identified and implemented improvements to existing quality processes.

From Quality Manager (Manufacturing/Operations)
5-7 years as a Quality Manager, with a strong focus on supplier-related issues.Skills to master
- Translating internal manufacturing quality challenges into supplier requirements, managing cross-functional quality improvement projects, and understanding the impact of supplier quality on production.
You're ready to move on when
- You've significantly reduced internal defects attributable to supplier issues.
- You've regularly engaged with suppliers to resolve quality problems and implement corrective actions.
- You have experience managing a small team of quality professionals.
- You're comfortable presenting quality data and recommendations to senior management.

From Design/Process Engineer (with Quality Focus)
8-10 years in engineering, with a strong emphasis on DFM/DFA and quality methodologies.Skills to master
- Deep understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, and how design choices impact supplier quality. Strong grasp of APQP and PPAP from a design perspective.
You're ready to move on when
- You've actively participated in APQP and PPAP processes for new product introductions.
- You've led FMEA sessions and driven design changes to improve manufacturability and quality.
- You have a strong understanding of statistical methods used in process control.
- You're comfortable working directly with suppliers on technical issues.
