You're ready to move on when
- Consistently delivering £500K+ in annualised savings from your projects.
- Successfully mentored and certified at least 2-3 Green Belts.
- Proactively identifying strategic improvement opportunities, not just executing assigned projects.
- Demonstrating strong leadership in challenging situations, even without direct authority.

From Operations Manager (with strong CI focus)
5-7 years as an Operations ManagerSkills to master
- Deepening Six Sigma statistical analysis skills (often requiring Black Belt certification), formalising process improvement methodologies, and translating operational challenges into structured CI projects.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully implemented significant process improvements within your own operational area, with clear, measurable results.
- Developed a strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and tools, ideally holding a Black Belt.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams, and drive change within your department.
- A clear passion for continuous improvement and a desire to apply it more broadly.

From External Management Consulting (Operations)
4-6 years in a Senior Consultant/Manager roleSkills to master
- Adapting consulting frameworks to an internal corporate environment, building long-term internal relationships, and focusing on sustainable implementation rather than just project delivery. Often requires formal Master Black Belt certification.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven experience in delivering operational efficiency projects for multiple clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of CI methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A desire to move from project-based consulting to building and leading an internal capability.
