You're ready to move on when
- Consistently hitting schedule adherence and OTD targets for your assigned areas.
- Being the go-to person for routine scheduling questions from the shop floor.
- Successfully managing minor disruptions with minimal escalation.
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of master data and its impact on the schedule.

From Materials Planner
3-5 years as a Materials PlannerSkills to master
- Deep understanding of MRP logic, inventory management, supplier lead times, and how material availability directly impacts the production schedule. You'd need to pick up the detailed finite scheduling tools quickly.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven ability to manage complex material requirements and avoid shortages.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between demand, supply, and production.
- Demonstrable analytical skills, especially in inventory optimisation.
- A keen interest in the 'how' and 'when' of production, not just the 'what'.
