- Mastering daily/weekly scheduling for a specific line, effectively managing minor disruptions, and demonstrating strong data accuracy and adherence to plans. You'll need to show you can handle more complexity and influence others.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently hitting schedule adherence targets for your assigned work centre.
- Proactively identifying and resolving minor scheduling conflicts without constant supervision.
- Successfully training or guiding new junior schedulers on processes and systems.
- Taking initiative to suggest improvements to existing scheduling workflows.

From Inventory Planner/Analyst
3-5 years in inventory planning or analysisSkills to master
- Deep understanding of inventory optimisation, MRP logic, and demand forecasting. You'll need to develop a stronger grasp of factory floor realities, capacity planning, and the dynamic nature of production scheduling.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven track record of optimising inventory levels and improving turns.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in demand forecasting and supply chain modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with production teams to understand their needs.
- A clear understanding of how inventory decisions impact production schedules.

From Manufacturing Engineer
4-6 years as a Manufacturing EngineerSkills to master
- Expertise in process optimisation, cycle time reduction, and shop floor layout. You'll need to build strong skills in demand-driven planning, S&OP integration, and the use of APS systems for complex scheduling.
You're ready to move on when
- Successful implementation of process improvements that reduced cycle times or improved OEE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to manufacturing challenges.
- A good understanding of machine capabilities, labour constraints, and production bottlenecks.
- An interest in the broader planning aspects beyond just individual processes.
