From Back of House (BOH) Team Member (e.g., Commis Chef, Kitchen Porter)
12-24 monthsSkills to master
- Food preparation, kitchen hygiene, stock rotation, understanding of recipe adherence, speed and efficiency in a busy kitchen.
You're ready to move on when
- Excellent understanding of kitchen operations and food safety.
- Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure in the kitchen.
- Shows interest in the wider business beyond the kitchen (e.g., FOH operations, costs).
- Reliable and demonstrates a strong work ethic.

From Retail Assistant / Supervisor
12-24 monthsSkills to master
- Customer engagement, cash handling, stock management, visual merchandising, team support, basic shift supervision.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience with stock control and managing daily operations.
- Demonstrates leadership potential and can guide junior staff.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
