You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led at least two major IMS integration projects (e.g., merging 9001/14001 systems).
- Consistently received positive feedback on mentoring and coaching abilities from junior colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Taken initiative to propose and implement departmental process improvements.

4-6 years in previous roleSkills to master
- Managing a specific compliance area (e.g., product quality for a division), overseeing a small team, and handling external auditor interactions for your domain. You'd need to broaden your exposure to multiple standards.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed a team of 2-3 specialists for at least 2 years.
- Successfully navigated a significant external audit for your specific compliance area.
- Developed and implemented a key compliance programme or system within your previous organisation.

5-7 years in consultingSkills to master
- Working with diverse clients on IMS implementation, audit preparation, and compliance strategy. You'd need to show you can transition from advising to owning and managing an internal team and budget.
You're ready to move on when
- Led multiple client engagements focused on ISO standard implementation or integration.
- Managed project teams and client expectations effectively.
- Developed strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills in a client-facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions.
