The scoreboard, and what is not on it. The hard targets, how often each is actually
looked at, and the quiet signals that never reach a dashboard.
Data Accuracy Rate
The percentage of data points you've collected or entered that pass internal quality checks and external audits without correction.
Target · <1% error rate If you've entered 500 data points for our energy consumption, we expect fewer than 5 to need correction after review. Catching a misplaced decimal point in a utility bill before it goes to the analyst is a win.
Timeliness of Data Submission
How consistently you meet the internal deadlines for submitting your assigned data sets to the wider team.
Target · 95% on-time submission If the deadline for Q3 water usage data is 15 October, we expect your cleaned and validated spreadsheet to be ready by then, not a day later. Missing deadlines can hold up the whole reporting cycle.
Query Resolution Time
The average time it takes you to respond to and resolve queries from your manager or senior analysts regarding data you've provided.
Target · Respond within 24 hours, resolve within 48 hours If your manager asks for clarification on a specific Scope 1 emissions figure you provided on Tuesday morning, we'd expect a clear answer or an action plan by Wednesday morning at the latest.
Documentation Completeness
The percentage of your assigned data collection processes and methodologies that are fully documented according to our internal templates.
Target · 100% completeness for assigned areas For every data point you're responsible for, there should be a clear note on where it came from, how it was calculated (if applicable), and who provided it. This helps us during audits, honestly.
Proactive Learning & Initiative
How much you actively seek to understand the 'why' behind tasks, ask clarifying questions, and take the initiative to learn new standards or tools.
- You'll be asking 'Why do we report this metric?' or 'What does GRI mean for this data point?'. You'll also be dabbling with our ESG platform or Excel functions without being told, just because you're curious. Your manager will notice you're not just waiting for instructions.
Adherence to Process & Controls
How well you follow established data collection, validation, and documentation procedures, which are crucial for audit readiness.
- You'll consistently use the correct templates, follow the data entry guidelines, and maintain clear audit trails without needing constant reminders. This shows you understand the importance of 'assurance-ready' data.
Collaboration & Communication with Data Providers
Your ability to politely and effectively request data from internal teams, even when they're busy, and to communicate any issues clearly.
- You'll get the data you need without causing friction. People will respond to your emails because you're clear and respectful. If there's a problem with data, you'll flag it early and suggest potential next steps, rather than just saying 'I can't get it'.
Quality of Initial Drafts/Inputs
The clarity, structure, and accuracy of any initial text or data summaries you prepare for review by senior team members.
- Your first drafts will require fewer corrections and edits from your manager. The narrative bits you write will be clear and concise, and any data summaries will be easy to understand and free of typos. It shows you're thinking before you submit.
