2-3 yearsSkills to master
- Accurate data logging, basic equipment setup, following detailed procedures, lab safety protocols, initial troubleshooting.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently executes tests with zero procedural errors.
- Can confidently set up standard test 'rigs' without constant supervision.
- Proactively identifies and reports minor equipment issues.
- Produces clear and complete lab notes and basic test reports.

Engineering Apprentice (Advanced)
3-4 years (post-apprenticeship)Skills to master
- Practical application of engineering principles, hands-on fabrication and assembly, understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, problem-solving in a workshop setting.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship programme.
- Demonstrates strong practical skills in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Can interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
- Has experience with quality control or testing in a manufacturing context.

Junior R&D Assistant
2-4 yearsSkills to master
- Supporting R&D projects, basic experimental setup, data collection, report writing, understanding of scientific method.
You're ready to move on when
- Has supported multiple R&D projects from concept to prototype.
- Is proficient in collecting and organising experimental data.
- Can draft clear summaries of experimental findings.
- Demonstrates a keen interest in scientific inquiry and problem-solving.
