You're ready to move on when
- You've successfully de-escalated at least 5-7 potential crises on your own, showing good judgment.
- Your drafted communications require minimal edits from your manager.
- You're the go-to person for junior colleagues when they have questions.
- You've actively contributed to improving our crisis playbooks based on your experiences.

From Senior PR / Communications Executive (External Hire)
Direct entry (0-6 months ramp-up)Skills to master
- Adapting your existing PR skills to a purely reactive, high-stakes environment. This means shifting from proactive storytelling to defensive communications, and getting comfortable with legal and regulatory constraints.
You're ready to move on when
- You've managed significant media inquiries and reputational challenges in previous roles.
- You have a strong understanding of the UK media landscape and journalist behaviour.
- You can demonstrate experience working with legal teams on sensitive communications.
- You're comfortable with the idea that 'no comment' is sometimes the best comment.

From Public Affairs / Government Relations Specialist (External Hire)

- Translating public policy and regulatory knowledge into fast-paced, public-facing crisis communications. You'll need to quickly understand the media's appetite for a story, which can be different from a policy debate.

- You understand the political and regulatory implications of corporate actions.
- You can quickly distil complex policy issues into simple, understandable language.
- You're comfortable engaging with high-level external stakeholders.
