- You'd need to have consistently owned and delivered on a portfolio of junior-to-mid level requisitions, mastered full-cycle recruitment, and started to take initiative on process improvements or informal mentorship. Basically, you're already doing some of the Senior role, just not for the most complex roles.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently hitting or exceeding time-to-fill and offer acceptance rate targets for your assigned roles.
- Proactively identifying and solving recruitment challenges without constant supervision.
- Receiving positive feedback from hiring managers on your advisory skills.
- Demonstrating a strong grasp of advanced sourcing techniques and market intelligence.
- Starting to informally guide or train new team members.

Senior Agency Recruiter (Specialist)
5-8 years in a specialist agency, ideally in tech/SaaSSkills to master
- You'd bring deep market knowledge for specific talent segments, exceptional direct sourcing skills, and a proven track record of closing candidates. You'd need to adapt to an internal, advisory role, focusing more on long-term strategy and less on transactional placements.
You're ready to move on when
- A strong book of business and consistent billing at a senior level.
- Expertise in a specific, highly competitive talent market (e.g., AI Engineers, Product Managers).
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with passive candidates.
- Demonstrable skills in negotiating complex offers.
- A desire to move from a transactional agency model to a more strategic, in-house partnership.

HR Business Partner with Recruitment Focus
5-7 years as an HRBP with significant recruitment exposureSkills to master
- You'd already have strong stakeholder management, a deep understanding of business units, and experience with HR processes. You'd need to develop more specialised sourcing and closing skills, and a deeper focus on talent market dynamics.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managing recruitment for specific business units as part of your HRBP role.
- Strong relationships with hiring managers and a deep understanding of their talent needs.
- Experience with compensation benchmarking and offer management.
- A clear passion for talent acquisition and a desire to specialise in it.
- Demonstrable ability to influence and advise on talent strategy.
