How you become one varies far more by country than what one does. This is the UK route. Most people take one of these ways in; the right one depends on where you're starting from.

Associate Feedback Analyst (L1)
1-2 yearsSkills to master
- Mastering verbatim coding accuracy, understanding basic survey logic, consistently delivering accurate pre-built reports, and getting really good at closed-loop follow-ups. You'll also need to get a solid grasp of our core feedback tools.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently exceeds targets for verbatim coding accuracy (>95%).
- Independently manages all aspects of basic report generation and delivery without supervision.
- Proactively identifies and flags minor data quality issues.
- Demonstrates a strong foundational understanding of our VoC programme and tools.

Customer Service Agent / Specialist
2-3 years (plus 6-12 months as an L1 Analyst)Skills to master
- You'll bring invaluable empathy and direct customer understanding. You'll need to develop your analytical and reporting skills, learn our feedback platforms, and understand how to translate individual customer issues into broader trends. This usually means starting at an L1 Analyst level first.
You're ready to move on when
- Demonstrates exceptional customer empathy and problem-solving skills in a support role.
- Shows a keen interest in understanding the 'why' behind customer issues, not just solving them.
- Has taken initiative to analyse support ticket data or customer comments in their previous role.
- Successfully completed basic data analysis or reporting courses.

Junior Data Analyst (Customer-focused)
2-3 years (plus 6-12 months as an L1 Analyst)Skills to master
- You'll bring strong analytical chops. You'll need to develop your understanding of qualitative data, survey methodology, and how to tell compelling stories with customer insights. You'll also need to get up to speed on our specific feedback platforms and closed-loop processes.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven track record of accurate data extraction, cleaning, and quantitative analysis.
- Strong SQL and/or data visualisation skills.
- Demonstrates an interest in human behaviour and qualitative insights.
- Successfully delivered reports or dashboards that influenced business decisions.
