How you’d get this certificate

  3. The centre assesses, and ETC Awards Limited awards. A qualified assessor at the centre judges your evidence, and the certificate comes from ETC Awards Limited.

The ETCAL Level 1 Certificate of Introduction to Rail Track Operations is for individuals seeking an introduction to the rail industry. It covers understanding the industry, using engineering tools, maintaining the permanent way, continuous improvement, and health and safety.

These are the units ETC Awards Limited registers against this qualification. It is a catalogue, not a syllabus. Which of them you take depends on the combination the qualification requires, and that is set by the awarding body rather than by us. Every unit here is regulated. Zavmo teaches towards them on your own work.

This unit provides learners with an understanding of health and safety responsibilities for employers and employees. You'll identify common workplace hazards, understand causes of accidents, select appropriate personal protective equipment, and recognise the importance of safe working practices, including working at height.

Level 1 credits are regulated, and they are awarded by ETC Awards Limited rather than by Zavmo. They don’t vanish when a subscription ends or a website closes. They travel to any employer, and Zavmo keeps the map of what you have covered and what is next.
