You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led at least two major ESG reporting cycles (e.g., GRI or TCFD).
- Consistently mentored 1-2 junior analysts, helping them grow their skills.
- Proactively identified and proposed solutions to significant ESG data or process challenges.
- Presented findings and recommendations to senior management with confidence and clarity.

From Lead, ESG Strategy / Programme Manager
2-4 years in a Lead roleSkills to master
- This path requires you to demonstrate strong programme management skills, an ability to design new processes, and a knack for navigating ambiguous situations. You'd be ready to take on direct team leadership.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managed a complex, cross-functional ESG programme (e.g., a materiality assessment or SBTi target setting).
- Designed and implemented new data collection processes that significantly improved efficiency.
- Consistently influenced senior stakeholders on strategic ESG initiatives.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills in novel, ambiguous situations.

Direct entry with 12-16 years relevant experienceSkills to master
- You'd need to bring a proven track record of managing ESG functions, leading teams, and driving strategic initiatives in a comparable industry or organisation. Your experience would need to be directly transferable.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed an ESG team of similar size and scope in a previous role.
- Demonstrated success in improving ESG ratings or achieving public targets.
- Strong network within the sustainability sector and a deep understanding of market trends.
- Ability to quickly adapt to our company culture and operational context.
