You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led a major sustainability project (e.g., a Scope 3 inventory, an ISO 14001 audit cycle) end-to-end.
- Consistently delivered high-quality, assurance-ready data and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to influence colleagues in other departments without direct authority.
- Actively mentored junior team members and taken on informal leadership roles.

Environmental Programme Lead (from another sector)
8-12 years in a similar lead role in a different industry (e.g., manufacturing, energy).Skills to master
- Strong programme management skills, experience with environmental compliance and operational efficiency. Adaptability to a new industry's specific sustainability challenges and reporting requirements. Quick learning of our company's specific context.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managed a significant environmental programme (e.g., waste-to-energy, water conservation) in a complex operational environment.
- Proven ability to translate technical environmental requirements into actionable business strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership of project teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- A clear understanding of the transition from operational environmental management to corporate sustainability strategy.

10-15 years in sustainability consulting, with experience managing client engagements.Skills to master
- Client relationship management, project delivery under tight deadlines, deep knowledge of various industry best practices and reporting frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in managing project teams.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully managed multiple complex sustainability projects for diverse clients, delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Proven ability to advise senior client stakeholders on sustainability strategy and implementation.
- Experience leading and developing consulting project teams.
- A desire to move from an advisory role to an in-house leadership position with direct ownership and impact.
