- Successfully managing minor disruptions without constant supervision.
- Being the 'go-to' person for questions about your specific product line's schedule.
- Proactively identifying and suggesting solutions for recurring problems.

Materials Planner / Inventory Analyst
3-5 years in a similar roleSkills to master
- Deep understanding of inventory optimisation, supplier lead times, master data management, and the financial impact of inventory decisions. You'd need to shift focus from scheduling to material flow.
You're ready to move on when
- Proven ability to manage inventory levels effectively, reducing obsolescence and stock-outs.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical skills to forecast material needs accurately.
- Understanding of MRP logic and its application in procurement.

Manufacturing Engineer (with planning focus)
4-6 years in EngineeringSkills to master
- Understanding of factory layouts, process flows, equipment capabilities, and time studies. You'd move from optimising schedules to optimising the physical production process itself, then applying that knowledge to planning.

- Experience with process mapping and value stream analysis.
- Ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements on the factory floor.
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and limitations.
- A keen eye for bottlenecks in the physical production process.
