- Successfully led 3+ complex, multi-module learning programmes end-to-end.
- Mentored junior instructional designers and provided strong peer leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and external vendors (£100K+).
- Received positive feedback from business partners on programme impact and collaboration.

2-4 years in a Lead roleSkills to master
- Taking ownership of a portfolio of programmes, not just individual projects. Developing strategic thinking beyond execution. Building and leading a small team. Mastering executive-level communication and stakeholder management.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently delivered a portfolio of programmes on time and within budget.
- Successfully managed and developed a small team or a significant number of mentees.
- Proactively identified and proposed new learning initiatives aligned with business needs.
- Demonstrated strong influencing skills with senior functional leaders.

Learning & Development Manager (from a smaller company)
3-5 years as an L&D ManagerSkills to master
- Adapting to a larger, more complex organisational structure and navigating internal politics. Scaling programmes for a bigger employee base. Managing a larger budget and a more diverse team. Deepening expertise in specific learning technologies.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed the full L&D function (or a significant part) in a company of 200+ employees.
- Successfully implemented and managed an LMS/LXP.
- Proven ability to link learning initiatives to tangible business outcomes.
- Experience managing external vendors and training providers.
