- Independently managing specific CQHS programmes (e.g., chemical safety, contractor management), leading routine incident investigations, delivering site-level training, and conducting basic internal audits. You'll need to demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently closing CAPAs on time with effective solutions.
- Successfully managing a specific CQHS programme with minimal oversight.
- Receiving positive feedback from operational teams on your support and advice.
- Proactively identifying and addressing site-level risks.

Experienced Engineer (e.g., Process, Manufacturing, Quality Engineer)
5-7 years (with a pivot to CQHS)Skills to master
- You'd need to gain formal CQHS qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma), develop a deep understanding of ISO management systems, and learn incident investigation methodologies. Your engineering background would be a huge asset in understanding processes and risks, but you'd need to build the regulatory and auditing expertise.
You're ready to move on when
- Achieving relevant CQHS certifications.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Successfully leading risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP) from a CQHS perspective.

Environmental or Safety Consultant
4-6 years (moving in-house)Skills to master
- You'd bring a broad understanding of regulations and auditing from different clients, but you'd need to adapt to our specific company culture, systems, and operational nuances. Building strong internal stakeholder relationships and understanding our specific business drivers would be key.

- Strong client-facing experience in CQHS.
