- Originating new strategic ideas, developing full business cases, securing sponsorship for major initiatives, and demonstrating consistent influence across senior stakeholders.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led 3-5 major strategic initiatives from concept to initial implementation.
- Consistently secured executive sponsorship for your projects, demonstrating strong influencing skills.
- Recognised as a go-to expert for a specific strategic domain or business challenge.
- Has informally mentored 2-3 junior colleagues to successful project delivery.

Senior Manager / Associate Partner (Management Consulting)
3-5 years post-MBA in consultingSkills to master
- Managing complex client engagements, developing thought leadership, leading large project teams, and driving business development. You'll need to translate that external advisory experience into internal execution capability.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed multiple client engagements, delivering multi-million pound impact.
- Proven ability to lead and develop consulting teams (5-10 people).
- Strong track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to transition from an advisory role to an internal leadership position with accountability for execution.

Head of Business Unit Strategy / Corporate Development
3-5 years in a similar industry roleSkills to master
- Deep industry expertise, P&L management, leading cross-functional teams within a specific business unit, and driving organic/inorganic growth. You'll need to broaden your perspective to a regional portfolio.
You're ready to move on when
- Successfully led the strategy function for a significant business unit or product line.
- Demonstrated P&L impact from strategic initiatives within your previous role.
- Proven ability to manage and influence diverse functional teams (e.g., Product, Sales, Marketing).
- Experience in M&A or partnership development is a strong indicator.
