You'll gain knowledge of data analysis and design principles including data modelling, normalisation, and data warehousing. The unit enables the design, specification, implementation, management, and manipulation of database systems using current tools and techniques.

  • Understand current tools, techniques and methodologies for the design and implementation of database systems, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data mining techniques.

You'll study enterprise database management systems, including their role in data storage, retrieval, and management. The unit covers security issues and system architecture, enabling learners to develop databases for modern business information systems.
