- Independently executing audit tests, drafting initial findings, managing PBC lists, basic data analysis in ACL/IDEA, and effective workpaper documentation.
You're ready to move on when
- Consistently delivers assigned audit sections on time and to a high standard.
- Can identify control weaknesses and propose initial solutions without constant supervision.
- Receives positive feedback from auditees on professionalism and clarity.
- Has started to informally guide new joiners on specific tasks.

External Auditor (Senior Associate equivalent)
3-4 yearsSkills to master
- Leading audit sections for external clients, understanding financial statement audits, SOX compliance testing, client relationship management, and managing junior staff on engagements.
You're ready to move on when
- Managed significant audit areas from planning to completion for external clients.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/UK GAAP and financial reporting risks.
- Proven ability to manage client expectations and deliver under pressure.
- Experience reviewing the work of junior auditors and providing coaching.

Financial Controls Specialist / Analyst
4-5 yearsSkills to master
- Designing and implementing internal controls, performing control self-assessments, managing control deficiencies, and providing advice on process improvements from a controls perspective.
You're ready to move on when
- Demonstrable experience in designing, documenting, and testing internal controls.
- Strong understanding of control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and their practical application.
- Experience working directly with business process owners to embed controls.
- Can articulate control risks and their potential impact on financial reporting.
