This unit focuses on effectively planning and fairly allocating work within a designated area of responsibility, as well as monitoring the progress and quality of that work to ensure performance standards are met. It is designed for first line and middle managers.

Performance Criteria

• Confirm work requirements with management and seek clarifications.
• Plan work execution, identifying priorities and resources.
• Allocate work fairly based on individual/team skills and workloads.
• Brief individuals/teams on work relevance to organizational objectives.
• Encourage questions and suggestions related to work.
• Regularly monitor progress and quality against performance standards, providing feedback.
• Support teams in problem solving and unforeseen events.
• Motivate teams and provide additional support/resources as needed.
• Monitor for conflict and address it promptly.
• Identify poor performance, discuss causes, and agree on improvement strategies.
• Recognize successful task completion.
• Use performance data in appraisals.
